During my senior year at Suffolk University, I was fortunate with the opportunity to be a part of Roxbury - a documentary about housing discrimination in the Massachusetts neighborhood of the same name. The film is the result of an education and outreach grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, directed by my Film Production and Advanced Editing professor: Daniel Weidknecht.

Not only did I assist partially in camera operation, but I also took behind-the-scenes photos at certain events and interview shoots in Roxbury, such as the former Mayor of the City of Boston - Kim Janey, and the CEO of the real estate group J.Lucky Team at a community event he hosted.

Director’s Note:
”Located in the heart of Boston, Roxbury is a diverse and vibrant community whose long-time residents have struggled to rise above decades of discriminatory housing policies. The new documentary, Roxbury, is an intimate exploration of these struggles and residents’ efforts to claim agency in a shared vision of a better future that reflects a larger struggle facing communities across the country.”
